Oregon's Pot-ential

Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley could become the first U.S. Senator to vote in favor of recreational marijuana as he recently threw his support behind Measure 91. The once taboo indulgence of smoking weed has slowly crept into mainstream acceptance first with the vast acceptance of medical marijuana in many states and now the pioneering stage of legal recreational use set into play this past year by Colorado and Washington. Measure 91 is still a hazy subject for many voters and the outcome for Oregon will not be clear until November 4th when voters cast their ballots on the topic.
