Harry Reid is leaving the Senate and there was much rejoicing

The New York Times reported on Friday that Sen. Harry Reid , D- Nevada , the Senate minority leader, has announced that his current term in the Senate will be his last one. He claimed that neither his recent eye and facial injuries nor the fact that the Democrats are in the minority in the Senate were factors in announcing his retirement.
