Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice William Waller Jr. said today the court would "render a decision in due course" on whether a special judge was correct in denying Chris McDaniel's challenge of Thad Cochran's Republican senatorial runoff victory because it was filed too late. Attorneys for both sides were peppered with tough questions for over 90 minutes in a hearing where the focus was Special Judge Hollis McGehee's ruling that a 1959 court precedent gave McDaniel 20 days from the June 24 election to file the challenge.
