U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs, a Holmes County Republican, sums up the situation succinctly regarding the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' latest "drop dead" dredging message to Cleveland and Ohio: "We appropriated the money, told the Corps to dredge the entire six miles of the shipping channel and now they're giving us the finger," he said for this editorial. Now Gibbs and the rest of the Ohio congressional delegation need to show the Corps that following the law -- and doing the right thing for public health -- are not optional.
