RNC Suffers Rare Fundraising Defeat, Thanks to Shutdown

The Republican National Committee raised $7.1 million in September, but that figure fell $300,000 short of its Democratic counterpart , making September the first time in 17 months that the Democratic National Committee hauled in more money.
