17-term Congressman Ike Skelton, D-Mo., dies in Virginia at 81

Former U.S. Rep. Ike Skelton , D-Mo., who served 17 terms in Congress and was chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, died Monday at age 81. Skelton, who lost his seat in 2010 to Republican Vicky Hartzler, died at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va., surrounded by family and friends, two senior Democratic House aides told ABC News.
