Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, making his strongest case to date on why he would be a viable alternative to fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton for the 2016 nomination, said the nation needs "new leadership" and that the U.S. presidency shouldn't be the birthright of a small number of well-connected families. Edging closer to announcing his presidential bid, Mr. O'Malley sharpened his critique of Mrs. Clinton on Sunday while presenting himself as an accomplished executive who would bring the "new perspective" he said voters demand.
