The police departments of Ferguson, Missouri and St. Louis County have apologized for some of their actions in the wake of the Aug. 9 shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The apologies haven't restored full confidence and trust in the police, but as with anyone who messes up, it helps when police acknowledge mistakes and try to make sure the same thing won't happen again.
